Kuala Lumpur City Scenes

When I wasn’t hitting the bookshops and CD stores in Kuala Lumpur during my recent trip, I enjoyed just walking around town, or hopping on the convenient city train lines (monorail, subway, commuter rail) to get around. There isn’t much in the way of old architecture left to admire, but the modern skyscrapers and other new buildings around town are very attractive.

One thing I noticed during most of my walks; there weren’t many other pedestrians on the routes I was taking. Granted, I tend to take long walks, but most locals stick to driving cars, taking the bus, or using the trains. Very few are crazy enough to walk more than a few blocks in the toasty sub-tropical heat. But I still think that walking around is the best way to really get a real feel for the place you are visiting.
